Ingredients

  • 500 g pork mince
  • 2 tablespoon Shaoxing wine Chinese cooking wine
  • 2 tablespoon dark soy sauce
  • 3 cm fresh ginger
  • 200 g green beans
  • 1 broccoli medium head
  • ½ bunch green onion
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 450 g microwave rice
  • 2 teaspoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  • In a large bowl combine pork mince, Shaoxing wine (Chinese cooking wine) and dark soy sauce. Peel ginger and grate into the bowl. Mix well and set aside.

    Combine pork mince, Shaoxing wine, soy sauce and ginger. Mix well.
  • Trim green beans, discard ends and chop into 1-2 cm pieces. Chop broccoli into small florets. Trim and slice green onion finely.

    Prep and chop green beans, green onion and broccoli.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a large, lidded non-stick frying pan or wok over medium heat. Once warm add most of the green onion and cook stirring, until it sizzles.

  • Add pork mixture and let it sit on the pan for 1 minute before stirring, to slightly char it, then cook, stirring, until browned. Add hoisin sauce and stir through.

  • Add beans, broccoli and water, mix through and cover with a lid for 2-3 mins, or until vegetables are cooked.
    Meanwhile, heat rice according to packet instructions.

  • Serve kids pork and rice separately. For adults, serve pork on rice with remaining green onion and sesame seeds. Enjoy!
